Arab Parliament President Commends UAE's Efforts in Promoting Human Fraternity
Mohammed bin Ahmed Al Yamahi, President of the Arab Parliament, has lauded the UAE’s efforts, under the leadership of President Mohamed bin Zayed Al Nahyan, in advancing human fraternity. Al Yamahi emphasized that the UAE’s focus on promoting tolerance, rejecting violence, and supporting humanitarian causes is deeply embedded in the country's values. On the occasion of the International Day of Human Fraternity, celebrated on February 4 each year, Al Yamahi highlighted that the UAE’s example in humanitarian work has earned global recognition.
The Arab Parliament President also pointed out that the UAE’s initiatives to foster peace and tolerance are not just regional but have a global impact. This vision of the UAE’s leadership, under the guidance of President Mohamed bin Zayed, has positioned the nation as a leader in promoting human fraternity worldwide.
UAE Participates in 36th Meeting of Arab Counter-Terrorism Experts Group
The UAE recently participated in the 36th meeting of the Arab Counter-Terrorism Experts Group, held at the Arab League headquarters in Cairo. During the meeting, a workshop on combating the recruitment of children by terrorist groups via modern technologies and electronic games was also conducted. Ambassador Maha Bakhit, Director of the Legal Affairs Department, noted the follow-up measures from the previous 35th session of the Arab Interior Ministers Council.
The UAE delegation also engaged in discussions concerning strengthening cooperation with the United Nations and other international bodies on counter-terrorism. Additionally, the meeting addressed the use of drones in terrorist operations, underlining the collective efforts by Arab states to combat emerging security challenges effectively.
UAE-Kuwait Trade Relations Exemplify Arab Integration: Kuwait's Ministry of Commerce and Industry
Zyad Abdullah Alnajem, Under-Secretary of the Ministry of Commerce and Industry of Kuwait, expressed optimism about the future of UAE-Kuwait economic relations, emphasizing the strong trade and investment ties between the two nations. UAE is Kuwait’s largest trading partner globally, with bilateral trade continuing to grow in recent years.
Alnajem pointed out the substantial Kuwaiti investments in the UAE, particularly in sectors such as real estate, services, financial investments, and tourism. He also highlighted the role of Emirati investments in Kuwait, particularly in the maritime and aviation industries, where 122 weekly flights ensure continued economic integration.
Bilateral agreements, such as those signed within the UAE-Kuwait Joint Higher Committee, are fostering cooperation in fields like telecommunications, cybersecurity, and information technology. These agreements, including one to avoid double taxation, aim to simplify the movement of goods and services between the countries while boosting competitiveness in both markets. Alnajem underlined that the UAE-Kuwait trade relationship is a prime example of Arab integration, with both nations working together to achieve mutual growth and economic diversification.
Piyush Goyal Meets Saudi Arabia's Industry Minister to Strengthen Trade and Investment Ties
Indian Union Minister Piyush Goyal recently held talks with Bandar bin Ibrahim Alkhorayef, the Minister of Industry and Mineral Resources of Saudi Arabia, to strengthen bilateral trade and investment ties between the two nations. Goyal expressed enthusiasm about deepening India's economic partnership with Saudi Arabia, particularly in the sectors of fertilizers, petrochemicals, and pharmaceuticals.
Alkhorayef also met with other Indian ministers, including JP Nadda, the Minister of Chemicals and Fertilizers, and Bhupathiraju Srinivasa Varma, the Minister of Steel and Heavy Industries, to explore further opportunities in the industrial and mining fields. The ministers discussed potential investments that would benefit both countries and support their long-term growth.
In addition to these meetings, Goyal had previously visited Saudi Arabia in October 2024, where he inaugurated the "One District One Product" (ODOP) Wall at the Indian Embassy and co-chaired the 2nd Ministerial Meeting of the Economy and Investment Committee under the Saudi-India Strategic Partnership Council.
