Pune Porsche Case: Police Challenges JJB’s Refusal to Try Accused as Adult

Police Appeal to Higher Court The Pune Police have escalated the controversial Pune Porsche crash case by moving an application before the sessions court, challenging the Juvenile Justice Board’s (JJB) decision to reject their plea to try the 17-year-old accused as an adult. Special Public Prosecutor Shishir Hiray confirmed that the prosecution argued the JJB’s ruling was flawed. According to Hiray, the application was filed on 7 August 2025 , and a hearing date will be fixed once the case is listed. An officer from Pune Police added that the necessary approvals from the district collector were secured before approaching the sessions court.
