Despite strong legal frameworks and new road safety standards, implementation gaps, weak enforcement, and lack of dedicated funding continue to threaten lives on Indian roads. Panel Recommends Action Against JJB Members for  Lapses in Granting Bail in Pune Car Crash Case A panel from the Women and Child Development (WCD) Department of the Maharashtra government has recommended disciplinary action against two Juvenile Justice Board (JJB) members for "procedural lapses" in granting bail to the minor accused in the Pune Porsche crash case.  Investigation and Findings Prashant Narnaware, the Women and Child Development Commissioner, confirmed that the final report has been submitted to the Maharashtra government.
